Headlining this event is Jeff Garcia , featuring Cain Lopez and Rob DaRocha . Jeff Garcia is a native of La Puente, California and has been a standup comic since age 15, when he took second place at an amateur contest at the Montclair Laugh Stop. His sharp wit and hilarious material on growing up Latino in a multi-cultural community quickly won the admiration of audiences at all the major Hollywood comedy hangs, where he became a club favorite by the age of 20. Jeff’s featured film credits include Nickelodeon's Oscar Nominated "Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius" as the voice of Sheen, Warner Brother's animated film "Happy Feet" as the voice of Rinaldo and Pip the mouse in the animation movie "Barnyard". Among his more than 25 television appearances are NBC's "Friday Night", "Que Locos", "Vibe", Comedy Central's "Comic Justice", HBO's "Loco Slam", Fox's Culture Clash, and an MTV half hour comedy special. Jeff performs all over the country in such notable joints as the Improv, the Laugh Factory, Harrah's - Las Vegas, the Tropicana, the Punch Line, Caroline's, and the Boston Comedy Club. He also performs at the world famous Ice House in Pasadena where he hosts the "Loco Comedy Jam". Cain Lopez is one of the fastest rising young Latino comedians in the United States. His comedy material reflects upon true events in his life, from being the fat kid in elementary school and growing up in a trailer park, to simply hanging out. Cain Lopez isn't just a Latino comic; he talks about life and the real problems that all people endure. He was a featured comic in HBO's Latino Laugh Festival. He has appeared twice on Galavision’s "Que Locos" comedy show. Cain has performed with Damon Wayans, Paul Rodriguez, Dave Chappelle, Tommy Davidson and Wayne Brady (from ABC's "Whose Line Is It Anyway.") Even the most diverse crowd will have numb jaws, sore cheeks, and teary eyes after experiencing a Cain Lopez set! Rob DaRocha impeccable comedic timing has led him to develop a career in stand-up comedy in a short amount of time. He began his performing career in his home town of Los Angeles and has emerged as a favorite at the Ice House, Laugh Factory, and Improv. Last summer, he was selected to be part of the 2007 Latino Laugh Festival’s Diamonds in the Rough Show featuring top headliner comics such as Carlos Mencia and Johnny Sanchez. In addition to stand-up comedy, he is currently studying acting under Lesly Kahn in Hollywood, has studied improv at the Groundlings and Upright Citizen’s Brigade and can be seen in several national commercials. Rob recently starred in and co-wrote the short film entitled "The Addiction of Ethan Lonemyer" which will be showing at major film festivals in 2008. He is a graduate of the San Francisco State Film School. He also studied Guerilla warfare in the congos of El Salvador were he single handledly fought off 50 soldiers, don’t ask him about it...horrible memories. The shows are presented by Arizona native Raul Monreal III of Chandler, an engineer at General Dynamics, in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Salvador Zambrano, an engineer at the Port of LA, California. The two met while serving as presidents for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and they established SUMMA Communications as a promotions company in 1994. Zambrano has the connections in Hollywood to book the comedians, and Monreal does the legwork needed to put the shows together. SUMMA Communications has focused its efforts on raising funds for local Latino non-profit organizations. “I wanted to give back to the organizations that helped me throughout my college career at Arizona State”, Monreal said.
